Big Mike - Steltonwald Fighter Practice http://www.sca.org/ http://www.steltonwald.org/index.htm Canton of Steltonwald Fighter Practice Tuesday, September 11, 2007 @ Heavy Weapons Fighting Practice There will once again there will be Fighter Practices in Steltonwald. Practice will be every Tuesday beginning March 6th at 6pm at they will be held at the Economy Grange Hall, 2802 Conway Walrose Road, Baden, PA 15001. There are indoor facilities for us during the cold weather and once the weather becomes nice we have plenty of outdoor area to use as well. The hall has 2 floors so if there are Fencers who would like to fight the space will be available.(Any fencing marshall who would be interested in running a practice please contact the Knight Marshall for info.) We also hope to eventually organize Youth Fighting soon as well. Society for Creative Anachronism S.C.A.

The purpose of this video is to provide some insight for non-SCA people on the basics of sword and shield fighting. Here on You Tube viewers often see people doing SCA fighting but the action is too fast for them to really get an idea of what is going on. In this video I discuss some basic attack and defense with sword and shield. This is not intended as a training tool but rather as general information for non-SCA fighters. If you are interested in learning to fight in this style you should attend an SCA practice in your area. You can find a local group at www.SCA.org The SCA is a non-for-profit organization. Training is usually free. Some locations ask for a $5 donation if they are renting a practice-site. Loaner equipment is often available for beginners.
